Son going to Germany

First off let me have you get acquainted with my son his name is Joe, he is 24 he has a younger brother who is 20. He just made Sergeant this past December.

He first joined the Army in 2008 right before I had surgery for OC, he went through his basic training in Kentucky during my first round of Chemo treatments, he called us all the time or at least when he had the chance to he was away for the whole summer.

Once he came home from Boot Camp he was stationed in El Paso Texas at Ft. Bliss Military base, he was there for almost a year when he came home for Christmas then went back to Texas and from there was sent to Iraq (in 2009) where he served his first Tour of Duty, during which after his 6 month stay he was able to go on leave and come home to visit with us again for Christmas (which was nice because his birthday is right after so we got to see him go from one age to the next) when he got back to Iraq we continued to talked quiet a bit he had his laptop and we even got to see him occasionally, we got to see pictures of him that he would send us of some of the things that he saw while in Iraq, the living quarters, the skids of water they had, the rifle and other equipment that he was using, he even sent us a picture of a missile that was defused by the engineers.

It didn't bother me as much with him being in Iraq because of where he was located at, he still went out on missions and we still worried about him but at least we had some type of communication going even if it was every few weeks.

He finally came home in March of 2010 for his brother's graduation from High School, something that his brother had been  hoping for if nothing else, while he was home he got promoted to an E4 Specialist and then a few months later to a Srgt.

Things have been going his way and he has been doing great things with his life, and i am so proud of him i just don't know how to deal with the not being able to talk to him or the not being able to text him when he is over in Germany.

I am starting this BLOG in the hopes that I will get other Army Moms to join me so we can chat and support each other i know that there are other blogs out there as well but i feel that the more the merrier...
